Vintage Midget on eBay

Interesting! From eBay:

You are looking at a piece of California racing history! Probably early '50s 3/4 midget, that competed at Central California race tracks like the Lemoore Midget Jet Bowl. This is an intact, virtually complete example. Late '40s or early '50s flathead Harley motor with rear cylinder removed to meet displacement requirements. Motor turns free and has compression. Mag/distributor is out. I had it rebuilt, but have not re-installed. Just needs points, condenser and wires. Seat bottom is missing.

I have never heard of removing one cylinder on a two cylinder motor. Probably common as can be, but I just never thought about it. Even if the crank isn't counter-balanced, it seems like it would rattle apart.

On eBay.
