What a good idea! Summer is here and I have a ray of sunshine for you. Imagine! You! At Point Dume in your 1977 Volkswagen Westfalia Bus. What a good idea!
Extremely dry, high desert bus with a signed clean title. Previous owner was a German forklift and heavy equipment mechanic.
Battery box and master cylinder well have surface rust but nothing close to through. Jack point, window frames, doors, quarters all immaculate.
I have not polished the chalky single stage paint. It merely got a rinse off.
Missing a few interior components like cabinet doors, table, etc but overall very nice interior with original Westy fabric.
Front seats are original but are bone dry and will likely crumble with use.
There is a type 1 engine in the bus with homemade engine sheet metal. It is not plumbed for fuel, has no coil wire, is not hooked up to run.
Also includes a type 4 engine that is reportedly the original 2.0 liter engine that came with the bus. I have what I believe is the complete original fuel injection system including factory wiring harness. The engine has a nice quality Weber carburetor conversion intake but there is no carb.
According to former owner, husband removed Type 4 engine and put in running Type 1 engine. Plan was to convert Type 4 to carburator and return to the bus. That didn’t happen before his passing.
Beautiful fuse box and under dash wiring. Blaupunkt aftermarket CD player.
I pulled to my house with the functioning tow bar.
There is a homemade rear towing substucture that mounts to the back end that the (quite bent) original bumper fits over. Previous owner said they towed two jet skis behind it.
The canvas on the pop-top needs to be replaced but 3 new Duplex/Wolfsburg West seals are included. All pop-top hardware, hinges and lock work perfectly.
This is a very nice, unmolested VW bus. Located in Lake Hughes, California - the Riviera of the far northwest Angeles National Forest.
$9500! Divorce forces sale! Blood in the water!
Only trades would be for items that I could easily turn into cash like gold jewelry, Song dynasty vase or Porsches.
