Eisentraut Limited Vintage Road Bike
Eisentraut Limited Vintage Road Bike
This 70s "barn find" comes to you from the workshop of one of California's premier custom framebuilders, believed by many of the cognoscenti to be a godfather of American bicycle handcraft. The LIMITED was a production bike offered by Eisentraut and likely made by Bruce Gordon, another luminaire of California frame building. This example is a remarkably clean bike showing exceptionally low original mileage. We are offering this bike in essentially "as found" condition. The original bar tape and gum hoods had dried and fallen victim to the elements, so we replaced them with new Velox tape and EuroAsia Campagnolo reproduction hoods. We haven't done more to the bike than air up the tires and wipe it down. It's a stunning example of an increasingly collectible bike in a rare size.
Built entirely with Campagnolo Nuovo Record components. (Pat. 73 rear derailleur and <6> stamped crank arms)
3TTT Record stem in 115mm and GB bars (38cm center-to-center).
Lyotard Berthet pedals with nicely leather-wrapped toe clips.
Brooks Professional saddle (date stamped 73)
Campagnolo high flange Nuovo Record hubs laced to Mavic clinchers, 7-Speed Suntour freewheel
seat tube: 62cm, center-to-center
top tube: 58cm, center-to-center
While the tires have good tread and hold air, they are dried and old and should be replaced before riding.
