Schwinn City Bike Conversion in the Baguette Slayer Style
maybe you have lots of everything but what you needed the whole time was a classic city bike with a functional and attractive front basket. Schwinn World converted for carrying of cheap rosé, expensive bread and free library books. This summer’s hottest novel writes itself. Shellac’s cork grips, a North Road style handlebar, everyone’s (everyone on a budget) favorite thumb shifters, gumwall tires, comfy saddle, Cane Creek brake pads, full recable, made in USA Wald basket, rubber block pedals, Sunrace chain. 52 CM smallish medium
$450 with warranty. #notrichjustrad
Size, seat tube: 52 CM
We call these bikes baguette slayers, as they are the perfect city bike for casual errands, farmer's market runs, riding to work or bar hopping. Unlike the burrito slayer, which is based on a MTB chassis, the baguette slayer is based on a drop bar road bike. Has a straight back, heads-up, see over cars riding position but is going to be faster, more nimble, more twitchy and less forgiving of potholes.
Where the burrito slayer mountain bike conversions are burly, take anything thrown at them, the baguette slayers are more delicate and refined. Lighter weight too.
